Thursday, December 15th Advent Mini-Devo - By Joanie Lippert.
Luke 24:50-53
Luke leaves us on a high note. Jesus had defeated death through resurrection, he had appeared to the disciples and had ascended into heaven. In this moment, it was easy to have great joy. But let's rewind the story just a little to when our Savior had been crucified and the disciples were mourning and in despair.
Many times in life it's easy to be joyful when the plan works out or everything goes the way that we thought it should. True joy comes from knowing that God is in every aspect of our lives. In the big things that bring us to our knees and in the things that might be considered trivial. When it comes down to it, he has it all worked out. True joy is part of being in a relationship with Jesus and knowing he has promised to never leave us or forsake us. Great joy is being able to rest in the fact even when we might feel that everything is out of control, God has a plan and is in control.
