Wednesday, December 7th Advent Mini-Devo - By James Dou.

Some of the church community members have known that my wife, Yang’s, left hand and leg have been incapable of performing normal functions since November 2020 due to the radiation treatment for Arteriovenous Malformation or AVM found in her brain. To a small family with no other family members around to help, it was devastating. I don't remember how many mornings and nights I prayed to the Lord and wished a miracle, like that of the paralyzed man healed by Jesus, would happen to Yang the next day.

Unfortunately, that did not happen. I was puzzled. Where is God, and why didn't he answer my prayers? Then I realized how terribly wrong I was. God had already presented us with a miracle in 2017 when she almost died from AVM in China. God is with our family all the time. Jesus provides peace beyond understanding. When we submit to Him, God then will guide us at every step. Through God’s presence, He gives us guidance, and assurance. I firmly believe these can only come from God.

At the same time, my family was blessed with monetary and moral support from our church community. I know God is showing his great mercy and love through those wonderful people around us. It has been more than two years now and my wife's condition has improved significantly. She can walk in the house without a walker or cane, climb stairs independently and start taking over some of the housework. At this point, I can feel peace in my family is gradually being restored. Praise the Lord! Miracles do exist.

God is good!  On behalf of my family, we express our sincere appreciation to my dear small group members in Connecting Through the Word. We have received strength from God through you, allowing us to go through the most difficult time.  You guys are awesome!
